THE FALL-TIME PICK YOUR OWN
IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE SEASON
CHECK THE Daily Farm Update PAGE FOR MORE INFO
Since 1957, Whittamore's has been welcoming people to the farm to pick their own fruits and vegetables. They come to pick the freshest strawberries, raspberries and vegetables to take home to their kitchen tables. Come to our pick-your-own farm for a great family adventure alongside the Rouge River Valley. Kids love the experience because it brings the grocery store down to earth. For over 50 years we've taken pride and worked hard to deliver a superior product.
Our pick-your-own season starts in mid to late June with the most eagerly anticipated fruit, fresh strawberries. Whether it is to make jam, pies, freeze or eat fresh from a bowl, Whittamore's strawberries are plump, juicy and delicious. Start a tradition with your family and enjoy a day in the country alongside the Rouge River Valley picking one of nature's great taste treats, fresh strawberries. Picking lasts for about four weeks.
Fresh raspberries, the champagne of all fruits are next to follow at Whittamore's. Picking starts in early July. Whittamore's raspberries are trellised so picking is enjoyable, fun and easy. They are affordably priced so you can easily freeze them to enjoy during the rest of the year. Raspberry picking also lasts about four weeks.
During the strawberry and raspberry seasons we also have green peas and snow peas, green and yellow beans, red and black currants and gooseberries available for picking.
In early to mid-August our pick-your-own moves into field and paste (roma) tomatoes as well as peppers. Fall raspberries become available for picking in late August and continue in until the first heavy frost.
Our pick-your-own season finishes with 1000's of pumpkins ripe for the picking in anticipation of Halloween.
