Evelyn Whittamore has been making preserves for many years. Each Whittamore family receives a christmas basket with her homemade preserves and we enjoy eating them year-round. Remember jars of homemade preserves and condiments are thoughtful gifts.
Peach Conserve
12 fresh Niagara peaches (finely chopped)
2 oranges (juice and zest from rind only)
Few Maraschino cherries (if desired finely chopped)
1 - 19 oz can pineapple (drained and crushed)
¾ cup of sugar
Prepare above ingredients, place into a large bowl and let stand overnight for a juicer fruit. Place mixture in a large heavy saucepan over medium-high heat and stirring constantly cook until soft and thick. Remove from heat and pour into sterilized jars to ¼ inch from rim.
