In 1999 the Whittamore's secured a license from the Liquor Control Board of Ontario to establish a winery on the farm. The on-farm retail store and manufacturing facility is the first of it's kind in Markham.

From May through October, the wine shop is open daily and is located in our farm market on Steeles Avenue. Over 40 grape and fruit wine selections are available for tasting and to purchase. Our knowlegeable and friendly staff are always on hand to help answer questions. Let us recommend a personal selection for that next special occasion (we do custom labeling*), or pair up one of our truly sensational wines with your favourite entree.

Our wine maker Brian Moreau has been making fine wines for nearly 25 years. He's been with us since we started this venture and can be found most weekends working in the retail store. Brian beleives great wines start in the field and uses only Ontario grapes and a cornucopia of other fruit. His signature wines include Whittamore's Own Strawberry Fields and Raspberry Rouge, made of course of fruit growing right on our farm. Brian is constantly developing new and exciting recipes for his wines, so be sure to visit Whittamore's Winery for a complimentary sample of our new 2003 releases.

Tours of our production facility occur on Sunday's during the months of September and October. Group Tours can be booked upon request.

*Custom labeling is a value added service we now offer to our customers. We can print just about anything you want on the label, be it for a wedding, corporate function, or any other special occasion. The cost for custom labeling is $25.00, but the set up fee will be waived fro orders of over $500.00. We require at least one week's notice for proofing etc. Find out more from our winery staff!
